Brand Story:
Ashhutossh’s story as a designer started from Infosys, where he was working as a systems engineer. Although having a background in IT, he still was inclined towards arts.
Back in his childhood days, he used to sketch portraits of his family members.So, once when, he was sitting at his desk in his IT office drawing a sketch, his colleagues were completely amazed. Then one day a colleague mentioned to him about a career which he was completely unaware of – fashion designing.It was like destiny was calling him to go and explore something magical and achieve something more creative. He decided to quit his IT journey and joined fashion designing in Pearl academy, Delhi.
During the covid lockdown, he was in his hometown Sambalpur, Odisha. This city is well known for it’s art,crafts and one of them is beautifully handwoven textile IKAT. Over the months he observed that the handloom weavers from remote villages came to city and were selling their handwoven sarees from door to door. He realized that these weavers have no formal education in designing but their design excecution was extraordinary.He decided to highlight this age old weaving craft in some way and make it a part of his design journey.
In 2022, Ashhutossh showcased his first handloom collection in Redress Design Award in Hongkong and became the runners up. And thus the brand ‘ASHHUTOSSH’ was born.
Ashhutossh – the creative powerhouse of the brand! With a distinguished academic background, Ashhutossh holds a post-graduation diploma in Fashion Design from the Pearl Academy ,Delhi.
